What makes me to watch a three and half hour movie twice? Good story….good performances… or…good narration….or may be it has to be a RANG DE BASANTI !!
In the age of Aksar and Holiday, it is good to see a movie where the story is well researched, where the director has a passion to convey his audience and where the casting is perfect.. The story is the narration of Indian freedom story and its relevance to today’s India through the eyes of a foreigner. The movie scored ahead of Lakshya and Swades becuase it is neither preachy nor the transformation in the youth is abrupt. The movie is full of wonderful performance and scenes. The scene where Amir Khan and Atul Kulkarni were fighting when Siddhartha was looking and Allice Patten was requesting them to stop the fight in a way symbolizes the communal tensions in India.. People fight and no one around bothers ! The music is fabulous and it rightly mixes into the story….
